Accessibility
The Bulloo Shire Council office and Public
Library have wheelchair access.
The library also has a variety of audio-abridged books. Other customer
requests (eg captioned videos, Braille, community language etc) can be
obtained from the State Library/Public Libraries Division.
Child Care - Family Care Childcare/after school care needs are
restricted to private arrangements.
Cultural Activities - Silversmithing and sewing courses are organised
on a regular basis. A local youth band has recently been formed.
Entertainment The Bulloo River
Hotel Motel has live entertainment
several times a year. This is usually in conjunction with annual weekend
sporting activities including Polocrosse meetings and the Quick Shears
tournament. Local clubs have at least one major function each year including
the Thargomindah Rodeo, Easter Camp Cookout and the School Parents & Citizens
Christmas Tree.
Health Services
The Thargomindah Outpatients Centre
provides basic medical care. The Royal Flying Doctor Service attends the
hospital one day a week. The Royal Flying Doctor Service can be contacted
at any time and will make unscheduled visits in emergencies. The Outpatients
Centre also runs an ambulance service. Paroo/Bulloo Regional Health Service

Internet
access - The Community Centre and
Public Library have public internet access. (Library hours are from 1:00
pm - 5:00 pm each weekday.)
Mail and Newspapers - Thargomindah has three mail services a week
from Cunnamulla and two services a week from Quilpie. Regional newspapers
are delivered with the mail service.
Social Networks The Catholic
church maintains wide parishioner networks.
Sports - Thargomindah also has a 25 metre swimming
pool, football ground,
rodeo ground, cricket pitch, golf course and a BMX track. A day/night
rodeo and a polocrosse carnival are held each year.

Transport

Thargomindah is located 200 kilometres from Cunnamulla and 400 kilometres
from Charleville. Travel options include Air service to Brisbane twice
a week. Q-Rail comes as far as Cunnamulla twice a week Bus service comes
as far as Cunnamulla three times a week.

and local attractions, can be obtained from the Thargomindah Tourist
